The launch of the new BabyJabs website seems the opportune moment to say hello and talk to you about what you can expect for this new chapter in the BabyJabs story.
I’m Dr Gurpreet Gill. I worked with BabyJabs’ founder, Dr Richard Halvorsen, for over three years, during which time I learnt about his research into childhood vaccinations. I was delighted to take the BabyJabs helm when Dr Halvorsen decided to retire at the end of 2021.
As Dr Halvorsen did, I’m working alongside the fantastic BabyJabs Specialist Nurse, Heli Korte, and the BabyJabs team.
A dedicated space to inform and empower parents
We’ve seen many parents and their wonderful children in the 18 months since Dr Halvorsen’s retirement.
All too often, conversations in the public domain are polarised. Social media, in particular, suggests that people are either pro- or anti-vaccination, but what’s clear to us at BabyJabs – and why the service exists – is that there is a middle ground.
Many parents want to vaccinate their children against common childhood illnesses but would prefer to minimise the amount of aluminium in the vaccinations or spread them out over a slightly longer time period to avoid overloading their child’s immune system.
BabyJabs offers a space to ask questions, review the research, and make informed decisions about your child’s vaccination schedule.
What you’ll find on the new BabyJabs website
To help you, we’ve made the new BabyJabs website a repository of information answering the most frequently asked questions about childhood diseases and vaccinations. We’ve made every effort to link to the latest research, case data and high-authority sources of information.
In the vaccine information tabs at the bottom of each vaccine page, you will find a link to the latest Patient Information Leaflet for that product. This will give you further information about clinical data, potential side effects and contraindications. Of course, these are all things that you can discuss during your consultation.
Do have a look around the website. You’ll find information about preparing your child for their vaccination appointment, vaccine ingredients, licensing and much more.
Of course, none of this information is a substitute for a consultation where we can discuss your child’s individual needs and agree on a personalised vaccination schedule. Our aim is for you to feel empowered, heard and fully informed about your choices regarding childhood vaccinations.
We look forward to meeting you
While this is the start of a new chapter, the essence of BabyJabs remains the same – to provide a safe space for open discourse about childhood vaccinations and informed consent.
We look forward to seeing you and your child(ren) at one of our three clinics. We are aware that our patients travel from many different locations with their children so, for your comfort and ease, your consultation will be done via phone or video link.
